Yoga and Meditation
Yoga and meditation have both helped me tremendously on my personal healing journey. I enjoy teaching classes that allow us to increase awareness and connection to our bodies. Studying therapeutic yoga helps me to better serve others with limitations or injuries.
My main focus is teaching traditional Hatha yoga with long holds, Yin yoga, Restorative yoga, and Yoga Nidra. I also enjoy creating classes with the therapeutic aspect of yoga asana in mind: Yoga for Anxiety and Depression, Trauma-sensitive Yoga/movement, Yoga for the Lower Back, Yoga for Neck and Shoulders are some examples.
Mindfulness-Based Art Workshops
My experience as both an art teacher as well as a meditation instructor have inspired me to teach group workshops as a way to help others increase their self-awareness and to utilize creativity as a tool for optimal health. Creative-expression can help us communicate our thoughts and feelings when words fail us. You don't need to be a trained artist to use these tools. I've designed these workshops to be accessible to all, regardless of skill level. Each workshop begins with a guided meditation to center and ground us. I also include instruction on how to use the materials and tools so that each individual has the confidence to put their ideas down without hesitation.
