“The lotus flower blooms most beautifully from the deepest and thickest mud.” – Buddhist Proverb
Self Healing is a self-guided process where we take full responsibility for ourselves and our health. This can take many paths but the core belief is that we can learn to know ourselves and our bodies well enough to know what we need to heal and to find balance.
An important component of self healing is gathering resources as well as a team to assist you on your healing journey. You may seek out books and articles to learn more about your particular issue or illness. You may seek help or services from a physician, a therapist, a coach, a teacher, or all of the above!
The key is to create homeostasis in the physical body FIRST. From that place of balance and calm, we can then explore our emotional limitations and blocks. Allostasis, the opposite of homeostasis, involves changes in the immune, endocrine and nervous systems in response to short-term or long-term stress. By now, many people already know that stress causes disease by affecting the immune system. What we don't talk much about is how stress also affects the nervous system, which keeps us in a state of "fight, flight, or freeze". Healing simply cannot take place when we are in this state. By self balancing, we allow the body the space it needs to heal and rejuvenate itself.
My goal is to guide you and support you on your personal journey to healing by providing you with the information and resources you might need.
